Tracks at Burlington Station (Remix)

This shot was taken late afternoon. The light sky tenting over the scene rendered the tracks silver. The raking sunlight added character to the ties and gravel. I processed it originally using Photoshop, toned it, and was really pleased with the effect. Some burning and dodging led to a good “print” from a b&w perspective. The artificial tilt adds some interest to the straight lines aimed at a vanishing point in the distance.

This remix was redone using SilverEfex and produced a much tighter and crisper image. Even though the original was good, the SilverEfex rendering was far better. Floating in grain using NIK’s wonderful film-grain engine also made for a nicer “grittier” feel.
